Kindred Beginnings and Kindred Spirits: Introducing Lynn Polin, My Dear Friend and Amazing Fertility Coach!
Have you ever met someone and find that you click with them instantly? You both like the same movies and entertainment, share the same humor, and enjoy the same kinds of food and hobbies. You find it easy to be together because you are so compatible . But if you share the same passions in life, it doesn’t take long before you call yourselves, “Kindred Spirits.”
This is exactly how I feel about my friend, Lynn Polin, certified Eco-Fertility Coach, educator, advocate and mom of two miracle girls. I first connected with Lynn through RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association. RESOLVE has a private Facebook group for its Peer Led Support Group leaders. As is typical in these kinds of groups, information is posted and people chime in with their responses. Well, when Lynn would post a message or comment, I found myself nodding my head in agreement with her. I felt like I knew her and yet I hadn’t even met her.
I reached out to Lynn a couple of years ago and asked her if she would be wiling to help me with my ArtPrize infertility awareness poem, We Are the One in Eight, by sending me a few photos and a voice recording of an inspirational message to add to my display. Lynn was on board immediately. I didn’t just get one or two photos, I received dozens from her. With that many photos, I could make an entire collage of her journey, which sparked me to create collages for all those ArtPrize participants around the world who contributed to my display.
A year later, I again reached out to Lynn to ask her advice on how she founded the Sewell, NJ Walk of Hope. You see, I was interested in starting my own Detoit MI, Walk of Hope in Michigan and wanted to pick Lynn’s brain on how she made her Walk so successful and was able to raise $36,000 on her first event! Lynn actually was one of RESOLVE’s Night of Hope recipients for her incredible fundraising efforts. I am just in awe of Lynn. As you can see, she goes above and beyond to help others.
In addition to being so eager to help, Lynn is constantly working on spreading awareness about the disease of infertility. She actually went through ten rounds of IVF in order to have her two miracle girls! For her tenth and final round of IVF, which was the transfer that brought her family building journey to an successful conclusion with the birth of her second baby daughter, Lynn documented her entire journey. She and her directors and producers are putting together a filmed documentary on her journey from the time of her ovary stimulation to her conception and finally her delivery. The film is titled, “Inconceivable” and will give a thorough investigation of what IVF is like through the eyes of a woman struggling with her fertility. At the time of publishing this blog, the documentary should be released within the next few months and will truly be a “must see” for anyone considering IVF.
Lynn’s most recent undertaking is publishing her first (in a series of many) adult coloring books designed especially to provide support for those who struggle to build their families. I know first hand how difficult it is to have an idea, write a book and finally get it published. I’d like to give a huge shout out to Lynn for launching her book, Kindred Beginnings: Coloring Your Way Mindfully Through Your Family-Building Journey. Link to purchase.
Lynn’s newly released coloring book features positive affirmations and mantras paired with fertility symbols to help connect your mind, body and spirit as you navigate your way through your family-building. And to quote Lynn,
“Let’s face it - family-building is hard. Much harder than you ever thought. You feel alone. Isolated. Misunderstood. There are those well-meaning people who just say the wrong words. You know the ones: Just relax. Stop thinking about it. Give it time. It’ll happen. This coloring book was created to support you and shift your thoughts because, yes, the mind-body connection is a real thing. Give yourself permission to surround yourself with positive quotes and mantras that serve you all while releasing stress and tapping into your inner child through the art of coloring.”

I’m sure you can see why I am so inspired by Lynn Polin. She is such an amazing person. Recently, Lynn and I were pictured side by side on a card that is used to thank supporters of RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association. I couldn’t be more honored to be featured on a thank you card with anyone else. Thank you, Lynn Polin, for all you do for the infertility community. You are unstoppable and a true warrior for those who struggle to build their families!
In-Fertility & Friendship,
Sue
